Phillip Island

Victoria's Living Wildlife Sanctuary

An hour and a half drive from Melbourne is Phillip Island, home of the iconic, world renowned Phillip Island Penguin Parade, but there is more to Phillip Island than just this spectacular event. Birdwatching sites all over the island are next level, from international migratory waders to local woodland gems this is simply a place where humans and nature come together and co-exist in harmony.

With the eradication of the European Fox on Phillip Island many species are making a huge comeback, Bush-stone Curlews, extinct on the island since the 1970’s have been re-introduced and are thriving as well as the Eastern-barred Bandicoot.

The sight of Short-tailed Shearwater’s returning to their burrows on dusk in spring and summer is also a wonderful spectacle, so let Australian Bird Tours show you this enchanting part of the world!

Cost: $325 per person for an all-day tour, minimum of 2 people, small customised tours up to 7 people.
