How do you cram so many people into an island and still get so many birds and mammals? Come to Phillip Island and find out how it’s done! Away from the hustle and bustle you’ll find so many birding hotspots it will blow you away! Migratory waders, woodland birds, raptors and many more are waiting patiently for you to discover them! Try your luck, the Bush Stone Curlews are now back on Phillip Island thanks to the amazing work of Phillip Island Nature Parks, after 50 long years they’ve been welcomed back with open arms. 
 

The Eastern-barred Bandicoots are thriving as well, what, you haven’t seen one in the wild yet? And of course, on dusk you can see the Penguins come in, or, the support act, the Short-tailed Shearwaters (or Muttonbirds) arriving back to their rookeries by the thousand! (There are about 1.5 million of these flying machines on Phillip Island, between September to April)
